The drought will affect olive oil production in 2022

The drought has been one of the great protagonists of this summer. Last July, temperatures reached 40 degrees in certain areas of France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. In early August, sweltering heat and a lack of rain pushed almost two-thirds of the land in the European Union into drought conditions, according to the European Drought Observatory.

Among the many affected sectors in Spain, olive oil producers have been one of the most affected. Our country is the world’s largest producer of olive oil and in 2021 it represented more than two-fifths of the world’s supply, according to the International Olive Council.

As experts in the olive market, Green Gold Olive Oil has participated in these interesting CNN 聽and Euronews reports on the weather conditions that affect olive oil production around the world.聽We hope you find them interesting 馃檪
